If a Trip is rescheduled Captain Chris is not responsible for monies lost related to the cost of air fair, lodging or transportation costs and any other costs related to getting to San Diego to fish with Coletta Sport Fishing.

Whale Watching Trips
What You'll Need & Other Tips:
- State of California Fishing License for anyone 16 years or older. Click HERE for the current California Sport Fishing License Fees. Click HERE to purchase your license online.
- In the event that we enter and fish Mexican territorial waters, you will need to purchase a Mexican Fishing License. You can purchase the license online HERE . You may also need to purchase a Mexican Visa (FMM), which can cost between $20.00 to $25.00 per day. We can purchase the FMM for you at an additional cost. Please ask Captain Chris for more information.
- A valid picture I.D. such as your Driver’s License, Passport, Military I.D. Card, or School I.D is required while in US waters by the U.S. Coast Guard on all trips. Please ensure that the I.D. is NOT expired.
- Sun Protection: Sunscreen, hats, polarized sunglasses, long-sleeved shirts
- It can get chilly offshore so bring a sweater, coat, windbreaker, etc. Dress in layers so that you can shed layers as the conditions allow
- Rain Protection: Rain jackets, foul weather gear – “just in case”
- Food, Snacks and Drinks (be sure to bring more drinks that you think you’ll need)
- A large cooler with ice to bring home filets of your catch (Please leave in your car.)
- Camera and video camera that can stand up to saltwater
- If you prefer to fish with your own tackle, we encourage you to bring your favorite rods aboard
- Please be sure to be on-time
Payment Methods, Weather & Cancellation Policy:
- Payment Methods: We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express. We also accept Check or Cash
- Pay by Check: Your check for your charter must be received no less than one (1) week prior to the date of the trip
- Pay with Cash: You may ONLY pay the balance in cash on the day of the trip
- WE DO NOT CANCEL or RESCHEDULE DUE TO RAIN (RAIN IS NOT CONSIDERED UNSAFE WEATHER)
- Arriving Late: If you or a member of your party arrive to our departure late the charter will come back at the scheduled time and you will be responsible for the FULL amount of the booking.
- Additional Passengers: If you bring onboard more passengers then you originally paid for the additional charge for said passengers will be added using the credit card on file the day of the trip
- Children over the age of 2 are considered a passenger and will be added to the group totally and charged accordingly
- Cancellations: Cancellations MUST be requested no less than fifteen (15) days prior to date of trip in order to be eligible to receive a full refund of your deposit. Cancellations requested less than fifteen (15) days prior to date of trip will not be eligible for refund but you can contact Captain Chris about applying deposit to a future trip or gift certificate
- Gift certificates: are non refundable but can be applied to any trip based on the original date of purchase
- Rescheduling of Trips: If a customer wants to reschedule their booked trip within the 15 days of their scheduled trip a $250.00 Rescheduling Fee will be charged to the customer ($250.00 fee waived because of the Coronavirus out break)
- Rescheduled trips are good for one year starting from the original scheduled trip date
- Any “Rescheduled” trip (2nd time) that is canceled is not entitled to a refund of any kind and will be given a 6 month grace period from the Second cancelation date to reschedule
- Canceling or wanting to Reschedule a trip with in 12 Hours of your scheduled departure time: You will be charged the full amount of your trip scheduled if you cancel or try to reschedule a trip with in 12 hours prior the trip departure. You will not be entitled to a refund or rescheduling your trip at a later date
- Gift Certificates are good for one year starting from the date of purchase. Gift Certificates are non-refundable for any reason. If the charter is cancelled the total dollar amount will be used as a credit towards a future trip.
