Great Start For The Wanu 2020!

Captain Nick in the wheel house and first mate Trevor on a 1/2 day this morning. Cold weather and choppy seas made for some slow fishing to start but the Yellowtail showed and we were able to hook a few and land one.

Fishing Shallow Water Produces!

Captain Brian running the Wanu and first mate Trevor on the back deck this afternoon. Shallow water produced a pick on various species today. They released a dozen Rockfish, 3 Whitefish, a Lingcod and a pair of Calico Bass. They also caught 5 Sandbass and kept 4 for dinner.

What a Blast! White Sea Bass for Our Canadian Friends!

Captain Brian running the Wanu and first mate Trevor on a 1/2 day this afternoon. Today, the Yellowtail didn’t want to bite so they mixed it up and caught a pair of White Sea Bass. They also released several Rockfish and some Sandbass.

Slower But Still Quality!

Captain Brian running the Wanu and first mate Trevor on a 3/4 day today. Although it was a little slower today, we managed a decent bag of fish. We kept limits of Rockfish along with 1 Yellowtail and a Sand Bass. They also released some Rockfish and a Lingcod.

Bonita Interrupted the Party – Limits on Rock Fish!

Captain Nick running the Wanu and first mate Mat on a 3/4 day today. Great weather and good fishing. Group of four worked the Rockfish for a while until the Bonita interrupted the party. Chased them around and got a few on board. Finished up the Rockfish for limits and headed home.

Beautiful Weather & Quality Fall Rock Fishing!

Another Quality Day Of Ground Fishing!

Captain Brian running the Wanu and first mate Trevor on a 1/2 day this morning. Good bottom fishing today produced a nice mixed bag of white flaky meat. They caught 55 Rockfish(10released), 4 Salmon Grouper, 3 Copper Rockfish, 2 Sheepshead, 2 Whitefish, 1 Lingcod released, 1 Aanddab released and a handful of Mackerel released.

Very Successful Day Of Tuna Fishing!

Captain Nick running the Swell Chaser and first mate Mat back at it again. Within 8 minutes of dropping the trollers back they were bit. Got half there and found a kelp paddy later in the day and the group of 6 worked like a well-oiled machine to double the count: 18 yellowfins 1 yellowtail.

Catch & Release Friday!

Captain Brian running the Wanu and first mate Trevor on a 1/2 day this morning. A catch and release trip in shallow water produced a mix of inshore species. They caught a couple handfuls of mixed Rockfish, a few Calico Bass, a pair of Sculpin, a pair of Lingcod and they lost a nice Halibut at the boat.

Captain Jon running the Wanu and first mate Trevor went offshore today. Beautiful weather for this group came in from Arizona, Colorado and San Pedro. The fish came up late in day but they managed to get some nice fish on the troll.

Morning Session – Easy Limits For A Fish Fry!

They put a nice wack on the ground fish to be able to take home a bag of taco materials.They caught 1 sculpin (released), 3 lingcod, 1 whitefish, 7 Boccaccio, 14 vermillion and 7 assorted rockfish.

The June Summer Bite is on!

Before we get to the latest reports, we at Coletta Sportfishing want to take a moment to pause to honor the 75th anniversary of the D-Day landings in Normandy, France that commenced on June 6, 1944. So many young men sacrificed everything to defeat tyranny and to defend freedom. We owe so very much to those who came ashore to fight on those beaches; who parachuted behind the German lines, to fight alone and in the dark; who flew countless missions to maintain control of the skies over France; and so many more.

Gamefish Selected & 2 Nice Yellowtail Acquired!

Captain Brian running the Swell Chaser and first mate Hale on the back deck on ½ day this afternoon. The boys are back at it again after some interesting weather the last week. Today they spent their time in search of gamefish and were rewarded with 2 nice Yellowtail.

Gotta Love Those Spring Yellowtail!

Captain Jon running the Wanu and first mate Hale on the back deck on a 1/2 day this morning. Nice group from Philadelphia and LA had a decent pick at the rockfish then the yellows popped up and went 2 for 2 for another great month of fishing. They caught 13 rockfish, 4 boccaio and 2 yellowtail.

Limits for Passengers & Crew!

Captain Brian running the Wanu and first mate Trevor on the back deck on a 1/2 day this morning. They spent some time looking for surface action this morning, but none was found. They switched to targeting rockfish and ended the day with limits for 4 plus a couple for the crew. They caught, 28 salmon grouper, 16 Rockfish (7 released), 4 Copper Rockfish, 1 Blue Rockfish and a handful of Mackerel.
