March Means Rock Season is Open!

The 2020 Rock Season is off to fantastic start aboard Coletta Sportfishing as our anglers experience amazing offshore fishing trips and stellar catches that only the San Diego, California fishery can deliver! Our fleet is tailor-made to deliver an experience that anglers and small groups can re-live for years and years. We also specialize in corporate outings. Our March trips are nearly filled up but give us a call to find out which spots are available. We’ll do everything we can to accommodate you. Our April and May trips are booking up as well as families plan their Spring Break vacations. We’re also in the midst of the convention season in San Diego, which means that companies are booking all of our vessels to accommodate all of their employees.

Fishing Report

Easy Limits Of Rock Cod!

Captain Hale running the Swell Chaser and first mate Mat on a ¾ day today. Quick limits of Rock Cod for our passengers and some for the crew. Then, switching gears and focusing on Halibut for the rest of day, which resulted in only one short halibut but still made for a great day on the water.

Fishing Hard Pays Off!

Captain Nick running the Wanu and first mate Trevor on the back deck this morning. Group of three fished hard and it payed off. They opted to release their catch so the crew kept some for dinner! 30 Rockfish safely released and descended with 13 Reds staying on board.

Captain Brian running the Wanu and first mate Hale on the back deck on a 1/2 day this morning. Rock fishing was on fire. They caught 46 rockfish (4 released), 19 salmon grouper and 5 sand dabs.

Kids Crush It Today!

Captain Brian running the Wanu and first mate Trevor on the back deck on a 1/2 day this morning. They crushed it with the kids today. Quality rockfish today. Chunky reds, chunky salmon grouper and a chunky lingcod. They caught 23 rockfish, 13 salmon grouper and 1 lingcod.

As we make our way into April, the fishing off of San Diego continues to be intense and rewarding for all of our anglers, especially our Family trips. Spring San Diego White Seabass & More!

Captain Hale running the Swell Chaser and first mate Trevor on the back deck on ½ day morning charter. Fishing was on the slower side out deep so they moved in and decide to target game and we’re rewarded with a beautiful white seabass. 
They caught 3 Rockfish, 3 Boccaccio, 1 halibut (released) and 1 white Seabass.

Outstanding Rock Codding Continues!

Captain Brain running the Wanu and first mate Tervor on a ½ day trip this morning. Excellent cod fishing this morning with quality and quantity. They caught 26 Salmon Grouper, 20 Rockfish (5 released) 2 Lingcod, 2 Copper Rockfish , 1 Blue Rockfish and 2 Sand Dabs released.

Great Father & Son Duo!

Captain Hale running the Swell Chaser and first mate Trevor on the back deck on ½ day morning charter. They started out deep for rockfish that was on the slower side but then moved onto chasing gamefish, unfortunately they did not want to cooperate. Today’s fishing was slower than anticipated but our group left with a nice bag of filets for tacos. They caught 10 rockfish 4 Boccaccio.
